Pissed Off About Your Kid’s School System? Here's How to Get Involved

Posted by Justin on

Let’s be frank – tons of schools are jumping off the deep end these days, teaching things like critical race theory, enforcing non-binary changing rooms, and more.

If you’re one of the reasonable parents starting to get pissed off about your kid’s school system, there are ways you can get involved.

Let’s break down 5 of these ways one by one, so you know what you can do to enact real change:

5. Join the PTA

For starters, always be sure to join the local PTA or Parent Teacher Association. This is a great way to connect with like-minded parents who want to see schools go back to the way they were before, rather than kowtowing to modern liberal ideologies.

At PTA meetings, you’ll be able to present your ideas, support the ideas of others that are in agreement with your own, and even connect with teachers who may agree with parents secretly but not be able to voice their concerns out of fear of losing their jobs.

4. Attend Conferences & Meetings

Next, be sure to attend any conferences and meetings that you can, particularly those that relate to upcoming school subject material, book bannings, and other problematic issues.

It may seem like you don’t have a part to play in these conferences, but that’s not true; every voice the school board hears in opposition to liberal changes could help to stop those changes from being pushed through at all.

3. Volunteer at the School

Don't forget to volunteer at school as much as possible. Volunteer work like fundraising, looking over kids, and helping chaperone school dances and other events doesn't help you stop your kid's school from making drastic changes, but it will connect you to people who think like you in your community.

Remember, reasonable parents like yourself are stronger together. You need to connect with and get to know one another so you can present a unified force to the school board and convince them to adopt positive changes, not negative ones.

2. Write to Your Governor/Mayor

Depending on where you live, your local Governor or even city Mayor may be willing to listen to your concerns and force changes to the local school board. They may also be willing to ban potentially problematic liberal teachings like critical race theory and other issues, as well as protect the privacy and safety of your kids.

1. Speak Directly with Teachers

If all else fails, don’t hesitate to call up your child’s teachers directly and tell them what’s on your mind. Odds are many teachers aren’t fully comfortable with what is being pushed in many public schools these days, and they may be more than willing to hear you out and try to compromise to the best of their abilities.

More importantly, speaking with teachers shows them that they may be able to push back against the school board and administrators if it’s what the parents of their kids want.

Ultimately, your kid’s school system can be salvaged with the right connections and support. Get out there and get involved – we need every voice we can get to ensure our schools stay safe and responsible places for our children.

Thank you for reading, stay strong patriots.
